Beledweyne- Unknown armed-men have on Thursday afternoon shot and murdered a journalist in the town of Beledweyn, Hiran province in central Somalia according to witnesses staying there April 02.2012.
Mahad Salad Adan well-known Mahad Jarmal was Shabelle Media reporter in Beledweyn and his press colleagues told that he was assassinated around 5:30 PM local time by cloaked men armed with pistols near his home in Siigaalow village of Beledweyn, the capital city of Hiran region.
The regional administration of Hiran for Somalia federal transitional government said the murderer was also killed shortly after the death of Mahad.
Mahad Salad Adan was the fourth journalist killed in Somalia since the beginning of this year. Hiran Journalists Club accused the continuation of violations against journalists.
He joined his skill of journalism 2002 and he has been working with many parts of Somali on-line News from Northern Galkayo, he was also going to Uganda for more education as to improve his studies, and also he studied at East Africa University in Galkayo, Somalia.

Mogadishu- February 28, 2012 unknown gunmen killed a veteran journalist Abukar Hassan Mohamoud, nicknamed Kadaf who had been trying to reopen a radio station that extremist Islamist group had shut down and looted in 2010.
Abukar Hassan Mohamoud, the former director of the private station Somaliweyn Radio was shot five times in the head and chest at his home in Wadajir district in the capital Mogadishu according to journalists working in Somalia. Mr. Hassan, 49 old, died from his injuries at Medina Hospital soon after the assault and the main reason for the attack is unclear since Wadajir District Governor Ahmed Hassan urged the authorities to take steps to find the culprits.
Last six months four journalists were killed in Somalia, including the former Shabelle Media Network Director Hassan Osamn Abdi kinicknamed “Fantastic” who was shot to death on 28 Jan. Somalia is the most dangerous country in Africa to work as a journalist, CPJ research shows.
Hassan “Fantastic” was the third managing director of the Shabelle media network to be killed. Bashir Nur Gedi was killed in Mogadishu, 2007, and Mukhtar Mohamed Hirabe was assassinated in 2009.
A man wearing a military uniform killed Abdisalan Sheikh Hassan “Hiis” who was working for the local Horn Cable television station in Mogadishu 2011.
Somalia, which has not had a functioning government since 1991, is considered one of the most dangerous places in the worldwide for journalists.
